Gjøvik University College (Norway)

GUC is a Norwegian university college with an international perspective. Currently, there are 30 countries represented among our staff. GUC was established as a result of the reorganisation of Norwegian higher education in 1994 when the Gjøvik College of Engineering and the College of Nursing in Oppland were merged into a single college.

The Biometrics Lab at the Gjøvik University College assembles faculty members and PhD students that all have common innovative techniques for biometric authentication as their joint interest.
Our biometric research is covering various physiological and behavioral biometrics including 2D- and 3D-face recognition, fingerprint recognition, fingervein recognition, dental biometrics, ear recognition, signature recognition, gait recognition, keystroke recognition, gesture recognition and mouse dynamics.
Furthermore we focus on privacy enhancing technologies such as biometric template protection and integration in physical and logical access control. Our group serves also as independent testing institution for biometric performance evaluations based on our in-house biometric databases.
The Biometrics lab is an active member in the European Association for Biometrics and co-organizer of the international conference BIOSIG as well as the Biometric Session of IEEE IIH-MSP.
